PROCESS ENGINEER

Hobart Brothers Company, an Illinois Tool Works Fortune 500 business, is a recognized leader among welding manufacturers worldwide.  We are seeking a Process Engineer. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Identify and implement cost reductions projects.

·        Identify and resolve safety issues.

§         Provide technical and hands-on assistance on machine guarding and other safety related issues.

§         Assist Safety Teams

·        Identify and resolve process issues affecting Quality, Scrap & Productivity

§         Process parameter optimization

§         Identify and implement improvements to current processes and equipment.

§         Develop new process methods.

·        Assist Production teams in the development of Work Instructions and Control Plans for production processes.

·        Lead and participate in team projects involving production operators, maintenance and quality.

·        Provide technical support to production teams and maintenance dept.

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

·        3 to 6 years experience in continuous process manufacturing.

·        Must be Hands-On and willing to work with processes and equipment on the plant floor.

·        Must have experience with AutoCAD and possess the ability to make mechanical drawings.

·        Must possess strong computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Office products and MS Project.

·        Must possess strong communication skills, written & verbal.

·        Experience with Design of Experiments and SPC is a plus.

·        Experience with process ovens, wire drawing & cutting or extrusion is a plus.

·        Experience with electrical controls such a PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives is not required but is a plus.

·        Experience working with ISO quality systems.

·        Experience with problem solving methodologies such as 5-Why or 8D is a plus.
