PRODUCT MANAGER

Position Summary:

 

Evaluates existing product lines and makes recommendations, based on analysis, relative to introducing new products, discontinuing products and re-positioning products in the marketplace. Makes recommendations that clearly define families of products and develops a marketing strategy for selling product families.



Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

 Work with Marketing to develop new products and strategies for introducing new products; clearly define product requirements to include performance and price point. Travel and work with sales representatives in order to gain market intelligence. Conduct audits at customer locations to access effectiveness of programs and value. Prepare and analyze reports to track and evaluate new product sales contribution, profitability, COG's and commissions earned by sales representatives to determine if performing to goal so corrective action plans can be implemented or successes can be leveraged. Participate in the preparation of monthly and national Sales meetings by providing meeting content.

 Education & Experience Requirements:

 A Bachelors Degree (BA, BS) with a Business Administration, Marketing or Chemistry concentration or equivalent. 7+ years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years experience managing product line in a related market.Proficient in MS Excel; ability to read and understand basic financial reports.Preference for candidates possessing creativity, imagination and persistence
