Responsibilities: We need a Product Specialist to join the Product Management team of Cummins-Allison Corporation who will be relied upon as the software expert for reviewing market applications, developing new software product specifications, coordinating interfaces to third party developers (ATM networks, financial and retail systems), assisting in installations and creating documentation for use by field sales and service personnel. This person will be responsible for a number of new and existing software products developed for use with our automated and self-service money processing equipment.

The Product Specialist will initiate contact and maintain successful relationships with third party software providers and other target market influencers. This is done to assure that Cummins products are “interconnect friendly” and that these third party providers keep Cummins products in mind when developing and updating their software products. This person will work with other product management team members, sales personnel and the engineering staff to jointly identify key market needs and opportunities.

The Product Specialist must have sufficient technical abilities to work with the technical counterparts at customer sites, industry software suppliers and Cummins internal engineering staff. At the same time this person must be able to explain and document technical issues with less technical people in marketing, sales, service and senior management.

Qualifications: The ideal candidates who will take the time to tell us specifically how their interests, skills and ability meet our needs will be those most seriously considered. We need a person who works well with others as well as independently. A background in banking, retail and/or the casino gaming industry is helpful for this position. 20% - 40% USA travel and occasional international travel can be expected. Experience in software development, such as low-level coding and/or high level languages is helpful. 3+ years of experience in software product management is recommended.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Must be able to understand and analyze customer operations and systems
- Make recommendations on methods of interconnect and document these in complete and useful product design specifications meeting Engineering department needs.
- Must be able to present concepts well to technical and non-technical people.
- Must be self-directed and able to handle several simultaneous projects, products and markets.
- Must have successful experience in working directly with customers and third party developers at multiple levels.
- Technical or business degree is required. A marketing background is helpful.
