PRODUCTION MANAGER - MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION

Plans, directs, and coordinates programs and processes to ensure optimum inventory and material availability. Coordinates materials requirements, kanban programs, and just-in-time deliveries. • Develops and analyzes optimum material flow. Oversees and maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure just-in-time deliveries • Implements and maintains all kanban type programs • Manages and organizes a support staff to coordinate day-to-day materials flow. • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all corporate policies regarding safety. • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objectives of the position.   WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES: Employees in this position are, or can be exposed to the following: All working conditions and environmental exposures documented for subordinate personnel in department(s) managed and overnight travel may be required.   MENTAL DEMANDS: The following mental demands are required to perform the essential functions of this job: Concentrate, conceptualize, cooperatively work with others, perform detailed work, experience frequent task changes, learn new tasks in an interruptive/distractive environment, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, reason logically in solving problems, and accomplish goals with time pressures.   Physical requirements of the job: • Involves constant sitting. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally, frequent lifting of 1-2 pounds. • Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, and crawl on an intermittent basis. Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to use a computer keyboard. Requires visual acuity to make visual inspections and read words and numbers. Requires auditory ability to project voice in a production environment and carry on conversations in person and over the phone.   Education: Requires Bachelors degree in business related field or equivalent work experience Training: Requires in-depth knowledge of kanban, inventory control and planning, and lean manufacturing methods. Requires sufficient problem-solving skills to troubleshoot material shortages, quality, delivery problems, and plant safety. Experience Level: Requires the ability to perform the various aspects of the job. Requires analytical ability to troubleshoot material problems, and analyze cost and quality issues.
