Description:Participate in the development of embedded real-time firmware for high performance digital AC servo drive products. Serve as an individual contributor on large scale product developments. Responsibilities include firmware design and unit testing for AC drive functionality including motor control algorithms, communication interfaces, sensor interfaces, safety functions, built in test, and diagnostics. The design of embedded software subsystems must optimize and balance the following goals: run-time performance, memory requirements, simplicity and correctness, development time and effort, reusability, extendibility, reliability, and safety. Reviews the subsystem and system designs of others for system design implications. Investigates software anomalies in association with the functional test team, customer support team, or other group as needed. Must be able to initiate/participate in peer-led design reviews.Qualifications:1. Minimum Qualifications2. MSEE/MSCS/BSEE with 7+ years of real time embedded firmware experience.3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role. 4. Proven competency with object-oriented analysis and design using the C++ language.5. Proven ability to develop embedded firmware that optimizes run-time performance, memory requirements, simplicity, development time/effort, reusability, reliability, and safety.6. Ability to define, evaluate and troubleshoot interfaces between hardware and firmware. 7. Experience with complex peripherals such as Ethernet, FPGA, and memory devices. 8. Proven ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information of a complex nature in verbal and written form.9. Familiarity with motion control systems.Desired Qualifications1. Experience with AC servo drives and motors.2.
