Job Title: Packaging Mechanic (Pharmaceutical / Cosmetics Experience) Location: Somerset, NJ Duration: On-going temporary positions (possibility of permanent) Salary Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour **Positions are 2nd / 3rd shift opportunities, both 8-hour and 12-hour shifts available**  Work for a global manufacturing leader. This position is located in the Central New Jersey area. Packaging Mechanic: (Pharmaceutical / Cosmetics Experience) POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include working with mechanical supervisor and project engineer on modifying existing line equipment for new product launches and improving current line efficiencies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assist with Preventative Maintenance on Packaging lines. Perform troubleshooting, diagnose, and solve problems to minimize packaging line downtime. Overtime may be required. Perform changeovers to packaging lines efficiently and effectively. Works as a team with operators and other mechanics. Minimize quality and safety risks by improving operation of ACD’s and Safety Guards. Perform inspections, installation, maintenance, repair and diagnostics packaging machinery and all related equipment. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED: Education: High School Diploma Skills: Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a clean, safe manner. Must be capable of troubleshooting a variety of equipment. Experience: Must have three (3) to five (5) years experience in manufacturing environment and have a strong mechanical background. Minimum 5 years Programmable Logic Controller interaction including: Ability to identify various I/O configurations.  Troubleshoot and correct PLC component problems. Utilize PLC information to troubleshoot and correct associated hardware problems. Fluent in interpreting PLC ladder logic, electrical, mechanical blueprints and schematics. Familiar with multiple PLC platforms. Prior experience strongly desirable: Kalix tube fillers. Liquid filling and packaging equipment.
