General Summary

Under the guidance of the Procurement Manager North America, the position is responsible for core (year round) packaging and ingredient purchasing for Godiva N.A. The position will ensure the delivery of quality materials, competitive pricing in the procurement process and other activities related to the operation of the Procurement Dept.


Principal Accountabilities

1. 40%-Fiscal Responsibility- Analyzes and negotiates pricing issues in accordance to purchasing policy to achieve lowest possible costs. Establishing annual budget standards for assigned population of ingredient and packaging materials/ Executing procurement process and establish contracts to meet established budget and meet or exceed set enabler targets/ maintain packaging and raw material inventories to meet budget working capital requirements/ provide information, participation and attendance in cross functional regional (North America) and Global teams as needed, including new supplier visits/audits, online auctions and establishment of RFIs (request for information) and RFQs (request for quote)
2. 30% Strategic-Plan, lead, and implement strategies for the importation of components from the Pacific Rim and Europe, strategies for processes changes in the artwork and material sampling arena as well as strategies to eliminate waste from inefficient in-house purchasing processes. Responsible for all regulatory & legal compliance for all deliveries of assigned products into the facility. Lead and implement supplier relation strategies, such as SRM (supplier relationship management), VMI (Vendor Managed Inventories), Scorecarding, etc
3. 25% Operational-Responds to inquiries from Marketing, Retail, Product Development, Marketing, Maintenance, & QA. Supports QA activities associated with this category for audits, gap analysis, information gathering, quality issue root causes and corrective action plans. Supports all Marketing and Retail purchasing needs including Point of Purchase materials, in store display material, ingredients and goods for Retail manufacturing.
4. 5% HR administration




Education & Experience

Minimum education required: BS or BA
Years or relevant experience: 5 + Years



Qualifications

* Experience in packaging or ingredient procurement including international sources.
* Consumer Product Goods experience preferred.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to foreign vendors.
* Ability to work well with cross functional teams and communicate clearly in both oral and written forms.
* Problem solving skills in procurement issues and cost analysis.
* Strong Negotiating skills including international vendors.
* Strong comprehension in the legal aspects of Procurement.
* Working knowledge of contracts and RFP processes.
* Spreadsheet and analytical capabilities.
* AS400 skills including a good working knowledge of ERP/MRP in regards to Purchasing, Requisitioning, Material Requirements planning. Knowledge of both PRMS and SAP ERP systems a plus
* Knowledge of INCO Terms and conditions.
* Basic knowledge of GMPs and allergen issues/regulations.
* Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or APICS certification a plus.
