Packing and Shipping Manager

Western Extrusions, the alternative aluminum extruder in America is looking for a Packing and Shipping Manager who will be responsible for directing and coordinating all activities of the shipping department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel engaged in logistical operations, packing, loading, and scrap operations.  Any company can proclaim superior quality and customer service, but it requires quality people to deliver on that promise; consequently we are looking for a career minded individual to join our highly dedicated team where quality and customer service is truly our mission.

Responsibilities include:

·  Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.

·  Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of packing, loading, shipping, and warehouse activities with activities of other operational functions.

·  Confers and cooperates with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.

·  Recommends capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment to increase efficiency and services of department.

·  Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.

·  Directs investigations into causes of customer or shipper complaints and responds accordingly.

·  Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

·  Recommends measures to improve production methods and quality of product.

·  Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

·  Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

·  Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

·  Resolves internal and external customer complaints and issues relating to any aspect of the shipping department.

 

The desired candidate will have 5-7 years experience with increased supervisory responsibilities in shipping administration within a manufacturing environment.  The successful candidate must be hands on, team player, who is willing to take ownership of their responsibilities and duties within the Shipping Department.
