Position Summary:

The Photography Operations Supervisor (POS) is responsible for ensuring the team of Photographers and assistants are getting daily product shots photographed in a timely manner and with the utmost quality.  This position is responsible for implementing quality assurance practices set by management. The POS will utilize internally created tools to ensure a 24 hour maximum turnaround is being met from product arriving at fulfillment center to being photographed and ready for post production. This position will have daily interaction with a team of photographers and assistants, assigning work in accordance with meeting the department objectives and managements direction. This position requires some day-to-day photography.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

·  Implements practices and guidelines set forth by management ensuring all product is being photographed the same day it is received

·  Daily management of In-house Product with No Image list, and delegate accordingly to get missing product picked and photographed

·  Monitoring the team of photographers to assure quality standards are met

·  Coordinates quality assurance efforts with Image Processing teams

·  Manages list of total daily product photographed by the team of photographers

·  Creates and implements training programs on operational procedures set forth by management and assigns training tasks to team members accordingly

·  Manages team of photographers and production coordinators, to include team member records, and sets product preparation standards and guidelines

·  Communication with lead and senior teams to assure production standards are met daily

·  Testing photographic practices and procedures on new product types

·  Assists in pairing decisions for Photographer/Assistant teams

·  Act as a coach and mentor to others within the department

·  Works closely with management to create work flow processes

·  Acting manager when Photo Manager is not present

·  Regular photographer duties as needed

·  Maintaining in-house equipment and studios according to maintenance schedules

·  Keep work area neat and organized at all times

·  Must maintain good attendance

·  Must foster and promote the “10 Core Values”

·  Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

·  Professional level knowledge in the science of photography (digital and analog), photographic lighting environments, color management systems

·  Strong understanding of the post-production processes including Photoshop, Microsoft Office based programs

·  Advanced PC skills, proven experience with web browsers, Outlook based email programs, network setups, Internet savvy

·  Minimum 3 years digitally photographing in a high-speed deadline oriented catalog environment

·  Must be detail orientated and possess strong interpersonal skills

·  Must possess strong project management skills

·  Exemplary skills in team management and organization

·  Have the ability to multi-task with excellent follow through and good problem solving skills

·  Excellent written and oral communication skills

·  Must possess an exceptionally positive attitude and be willing to adapt his/her styles in order to achieve the department objectives

·  Commercial Arts degree or equivalent required, equivalent combination of work-experience will also be considered

·  Prior management/supervisory experience preferred
