Planner

Interested in energizing your career?  Micro Power Electronics, the leading supplier of high performance battery systems and chargers, is looking for a Planner for its Redmond, Washington facility.

 

This individual will work with production, purchasing and account managers to evaluate demand, plan manufacturing orders, control parts and leverage capacity to meet internal and external customer requirements.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 Evaluate demand and plan manufacturing orders to meet customer requirements.

Responsible for issuing manufacturing orders and timing their release to production as required.

Publish and revise manufacturing schedule according to availability of materials and capacity.

 Provide information to Sales/Production/Purchasing regarding material requirements and availability.

 Coordinate material flow through manufacturing to ensure smooth balanced flow.

  Facilitate order confirmations inside lead time.

  Evaluate impact of engineering or bill of material changes and recommend effective dates to minimize waste.

  Attend daily production meeting and provide updates on line status and constraints.

 Serve as focal point of communications between account management, purchasing production, ASL, quality, kitting, receiving and shipping.

 Direct and balance labor where needed to ensure efficient build rates and on time delivery to the customer.

 Develop and publish reports as necessary to keep stakeholders up to date on manufacturing order status.

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: (include, but not limited to)

  Monitor inventory levels and investigate discrepancies

  Suggest process improvements in support of lean manufacturing initiatives.

  Continuing education in materials related disciplines as necessary

Support ISO 9001 and FDA requirements

  Handle multiple demands simultaneously

 

In addition:Excellent verbal and written skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent work ethic and personal integrity. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

Physical Requirements:

·  Must be able to work  for long periods of time at a computer workstation

·  Must be able to lift 35 lbs. independently

 

Educational and Skill Requirements:

 AAS in Business or equivalent

 Strong computer literacy with proficiency in MS Access and Excel applications.

 Strong understanding of MRP system logic. Experience with 4th Shift desirable

 Strong attention to detail and follow through

 Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple tasks with efficiency

 APICS participation and membership

 Understanding of lean manufacturing principles desirable.
