Plant Accountant/Office Manager

We are a progressive service company to the steel and aluminum industries who has an immediate opening for a Plant Accountant in our Portage, Indiana facility.  Qualified candidate must be a self starter; details oriented and have excellent communication skills. Plant Accountant will be responsible for all accounting functions, including Financial Statements, A/P, A/R, Billing, Collections, Payroll, Analytical Reports and Administrative Office Duties.

Standard Accounting Functions and Responsibilities:

·  Month End and Year End Closings

·  General ledger posting and journal entries

·  Reconciliation of bank statements

·  Monthly forecasts and annual budgets

·  Payroll and Payroll Tax Reports

·  Assist with 401(k) Administration and Human Resource Duties

·  Spreadsheets and Financial Account Analysis

·  Financial reporting requests and special projects

·  Interface with outside auditors

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

·  BA in Accounting and or 2-5 yrs equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment

·  Outstanding Accounting skills

·  Excellent skills in Microsoft Office 

·  Strong communication skills and ability to analyze complex accounting transactions as well as handle multiple tasks simultaneously

·  Great Plains Accounting Software experience is a plus
