And we welcome anyone who shares our commitment to ingenuity and excellence.EOE/AA EmployerUnder general direction, this individual develops a thorough understanding of the function and operation of various machines including Break Presses, Turret Presses, Powder Coat Assembly Line, Fin Presses, and Hairpin tube bender.  Using this knowledge the individual implements new product launches and machine upgrades as they relate to the programming, PLC control, and operator training.  A large portion of this position will require daily support of production team using existing turret press nesting software.  Second shift work may be required.  Limited third shift work may be required as well.  PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1.  Day-to-day programming work includes working with current turret press nesting software, SigmaNest to support production facility — renesting parts to meet customer requirements and respond to production team's needs. 2.  Solve problems as related to machine/equipment projects, systems, or operations.  Analyzes data and recommends changes to improve quality, reliability, or efficiency.  Assists in implementing long-range improvement plans. Provides technical mentorship to maintenance technicians to improve understanding of machine function as it relates to control systems.  May function as Maintenance Supervisor as needed and direct outside contractors working on machines. 3.  Ensures machines function to their optimum safety and efficiencies level with regards to control logic and programming. Will often require addition of control logic to existing equipment — including specifying machine control apparatus and developing processes, systems, procedures, and code. Solicit and translate user requirements into logical models and appropriate system design. 4.  Leads cost reduction initiatives and project launches as they relate to equipment and machines. Establishes metrics for machine uptime and tracks improvements. 5.  Develops and maintains machine standards and technical literature related to programming and control.  Reviews and approves new machine controller designs. Works closely with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure optimum machine and build processes for manufacturing facility.  Some travel may be required for training and to share knowledge with other company facilities. 6.  Performs related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS: 1.  Associates degree plus 2-3 years equivalent on-the-job experience with proven track record.  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred.  2.  Experience working in or supervising plant maintenance technicians.  3.  Able to work in AutoCAD.  4.  Proficient in Allen Bradley ladder logic, PLC programming.  Ability to perform safety relay, light curtain, and safety mat wiring.5.  Understanding of OSHA plant and machine safety guidelines.  6.  Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; ability to work collaboratively with user, development, and support groups; good written and oral communications skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.7.  Technical Certification as required by business need. PREFERENCES:Working knowledge of nesting softwares such as SigmaNest and Optimation. Working knowledge of Amada turret presses. Experience with Banner safety devices.  Experience in sheet metal fabrication and lean manufacturing concepts.
