REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

 

The Maintenance Manager will have overall responsibility for directing, planning and supervising the Maintenance department. This position will report to the Plant General Manager and will lead, manage and direct a staff of Maintenance Planning and Maintenance Technicians. 

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

 

Responsibilities

 

· Planning, directing and supervising the selection, acquisition, installation and start-up of machinery and equipment, facilities and plant expansions/alterations. 

· Developing and implementing computerized maintenance tracking systems.

· Contributing to long-term strategic planning regarding staffing, machinery/equipment, building facility, etc.

· Planning department staffing requirements.  Training, instructing and supervising employees; measuring their performance and verifying their adherence to job instructions, quality system requirements and company policies, rules and practices.  Motivating and evaluating staff on a regular basis.

· Establishing the duties and responsibilities for positions reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.

· Ensuring that plant efficiency is maintained at the highest possible level without sacrificing safety, quality and cost standards.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. 

 

EXPERIENCE 

 

This individual will:

· Possess a minimum of 10-15 years experience in a plant-engineering environment, including significant exposure to Lean and Six-Sigma manufacturing techniques and TPM.

· Demonstrate the required career progression and maintenance management experience.

· Have the mandatory expertise with computerized maintenance planning and tracking systems.

· Possess the necessary communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Have the required skills in problem solving, analysis, manufacturing tooling, machine set-up, work instructions and continuous improvement.

· Possess in-depth knowledge of ISO/TS requirements.

· Have excellent negotiating skills and employee relationship development skills.

· Communicate clearly with customer focused vision.

· Assign the highest priority to customer satisfaction, while meeting commitments to achieve business objectives.

· Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional / technical knowledge.

· Promote and seek excellence in all aspects of business.
