Meadow Burke is a recognized leader in the manufacture and distribution of concrete accessories with seven decades of reliability.  Meadow Burke supplies rebar supports, tilt-up, pre-cast lifting and handling systems, rebar couplers and splice systems, inserts and bridge deck forming products for some of the nation’s largest and most prestigious building projects.  Meadow Burke products are manufactured and distributed through 5 manufacturing plants and 21 service centers nationwide. 

 

We are currently looking for a Plant Safety Coordinator to join our facility in Hazleton.

 

SUMMARY: Hands-on position which coordinates and implements Safety Policy/Procedure in accordance with MMI Corporate Safety guidelines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Assist with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees.Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.Survey to recognize and assess occupational health, safety and environmental conditions. Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.Direct or assist in the development of specialized education and training materials. Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information. Assist in new employee occupational health, safety and environmental orientation. Compile, analyze, interpret and report on all accidents. Make recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.  Conducts all safety training (i.e, confined space, LO/TO, etc.), meetings, inspections and reports as directed by Corporate Safety Dept. Conducts Safety Committee meetings once a month.Maintain records and complies with OSHA standards. Implements existing safety policy and procedure and works closely with Corporate Safety Manager. Works directly with Plant manager with special projects as needed.

  

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Requires basic knowledge of safety and OSHA requirements to comply with state and federal regulations.

   

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  Must have 2 to 3 years related Safety/OSHA experience in a production/mfg environment.  Some college or certifications preferred.  Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (training/presentation /reporting). Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel and Power Point).

 

Must communicate effectively with all levels of management.
