Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Plant Supply Chain Leader to be located in our Rockdale, IL facility. The Plant Supply Chain Leader will be responsible for the flawless execution of procurement of all materials and supplies necessary to accomplish production, ensure that all customer orders are shipped as promised, control inventories, and manage available warehouse space. The position will require proactive resolution of any outstanding customer specific logistical opportunities, and will provide high quality decision support to the account teams. Leadership will be required on promotion evaluation, customer specific logistical solutions, and customer collaborative planning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with sales, customer service, and our internal functional areas to identify, evaluate, and implement stocking, purchasing, and production plans.

• Establish the optimal organizational design to achieve objectives

• Establish, with the customer account teams, relevant metrics to measure the service performance.

• Create, implement and manage innovative supply chain programs with internal teams.

• Ensures recording and control of commitments and spend and manages activities that streamline business processes.

• Participate with the sales and customer service to enable the creation of the customer specific demand plan for both planning and operational purposes.

• Recruit, train and motivate a high caliber, technically strong, diverse exempt and non-exempt work group. • Maintain a safe work environment and accountability for safe work practices.

 

Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in sales, accounting, finance, logistics, supply chain, customer support or business administration

• 3 years experience in supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Thorough working knowledge of pipeline systems and procedures with an emphasis on physical distribution and logistics

• Order and risk management demand planning knowledge

• Additional experience including accounting, financial planning analysis preferred

• Experience in a strong process improvement environment utilizing Six Sigma, Lean, or similar discipline preferred

• Demonstrated project management experience

• Proven ability to influence to accomplish needed objectives.

• Prior supervisory experience preferred, including performance appraisal and associate development planning

• Customer Finance and/or Customer Logistics experience.
