Plastic Injection Molding - Tool Room Manager

Reporting Relationship:Reports to President and Vice-President of the Company and has the added responsibility, authority and accountability for all areas dealing with Tooling, Tool Quality, Scheduling, Tool Room, Project Management, and Engineering.

 

Education: Professional Engineering Degree.

 

Minimum Requirements: 10 years mold making experience.

 

Function: Has authority and the responsibility for defining and implementing the appropriate tool room management controls, record keeping, scheduling and reporting to President and Vice President.

 

Duties: Specifically, the responsibilities of the Tool Room Manager include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

 

1. Follow all company policies and procedures.

2. Ensure that all Safety Policies are followed and that commonsense prevails at all times.

3. Promote and foster team spirit and communication with co-workers and other departments.

4. Maintain and promote the QUALITY POLICY.

5. Maintain a neat appearance and work area at all times.

6. Ensure that employees follow company policies and procedures.

7. Set an example for co-workers.

8. Discipline respectfully while maintaining professionalism.

9. Keep tooling employees industrious and efficient.

10. Schedule and supervise mold design and material acquisition.

11. Ensure that molds are built and/or repaired economically without compromising quality.

12. Schedule and supervise all work done in tool room.

13. Complete necessary training and ensure that all employees are knowledgeable and competent in their ability to perform their duties.

14. Maintain Molds for optimum molding efficiency.

15. Assign job numbers and mold numbers for reference.

16. Ensure that employee hours are correctly documented on job time sheets.

17. Attend production meetings.

18. Maintain ISO documents.

19. Ensure that latest print revisions are on file.

20. Distribute prints to proper departments.

21. Extend the expertise of the tool room to other areas of the company, assisting them in any way that may benefit the company or create greater efficiency.

22. Maintain accurate IQMS information.

23. Communicate as necessary with customers.
