Plastics Engineer

Jackson Safety is seeking an experienced Plastics Engineer for its Belmont, Michigan location.  The ideal candidate for this position will manage engineering projects related to New Product Development and product improvements.  Work with suppliers in order to select and/or qualify cost-effective materials for our injection molding operations.  Work with Q.A. to develop and/or modify quality assurance procedures as they relate to evaluation of all incoming plastic products, whether internal or external.  Assist with plastisol formulations for flow molding operations.  Provide guidance relative to material selection for plastic components/products.  Assist internal manufacturing with molding issues relating to materials and/or processing parameters.  Travel 5% - 10% of the time, with a typical duration of 7-10 days.

Qualifications:

BS in Engineering, training in polymers and injections molding, two to five years of engineering experience in the molding industry or related experience.  Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Project Management & Office and SAP are all pluses.
