The Global Portfolio Manager for Cordless Tools shall report to the Global Category Manager, Garage Tools. This position will manage a new high-growth portfolio of solutions that create exceptional customer value. The Global Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the long term profitable growth of the products he or she manages and the life cycle of these products from innovation to sunset. The position requires a proven marketing leader with a track record of creatively and profitably growing a business or product portfolio. Disciplined portfolio and innovation processes are required for success. The Global Portfolio Manager will define the long-term mapping strategy for the portfolio in conjunction with the Category Manager by defining plans for internal investment in new product development and innovation and positioning the portfolio to optimize profitable growth in all regions of the world.

Primary Responsibilities
•Strategic global portfolio mapping and positioning for dramatic long-term growth in all regions and economic cycles
•Follow the innovation process to ensure that our customers voice is properly represented in our investment and growth strategies
•Manage the portfolio throughout its lifecycle: innovation, introduction, growth, maturity, decline, and sunset
•Develop technology road map for current and future customer value creation opportunities
•Define and implement global strategy with respect to product, pricing, brand and merchandising activities including key e-initiatives for current and new product development projects
•Define Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) opportunities and prioritize with Category Manager
•Define global and regional product scope for each product within the portfolio
•Work closely with regional sales and marketing teams to ensure their needs are understood and represented in the portfolio strategy
•Clearly understand competitive landscape and market dynamics
•Make / buy / acquire product decisions to support overall portfolio strategy
•Internal champion and product advocate for the portfolio of the products
•Manage costs to maximize gross margin for the market served
•Collaborate with regional marketing teams to drive product launches (value propositions, market research, competitive reviews, product training, literature and media)

Professional Requirements
•Outstanding results as a leader in a high-performing business is a prerequisite
•5+ years experience in the professional cordless tools environment preferred
•Global perspective and work experience is highly valued
•Track record of success in relevant tool markets is strongly preferred
•Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is valued
•Some travel, approximately 10-20%
