Job Title-Pricing/Cost Analyst

Location-Chicago, IL

Division-Alcan Packaging Food & Specialty Americas

Perform analysis of cost relationship to market pricing via existing internal databases. Develop accurate costing for day-to-day film pricing. Create, monitor, and maintain competitive pricing database. Compile cost and market pricing for large volume flexible bids. Work with Sales and Marketing to create customer hard copy and database output to support bid proposal. Work with Marketing to conduct needed internal analysis and create internal reports to allow management to clearly understand the sales and income stream from pricing proposals. Monitor raw material costs and analyze the impact upon existing product pricing within defined product lines. Develop and maintain all customer price movements in accordance with agreed-upon programs. Continuously improve understanding of market segments through field visits, trade relations and sales/customer interaction.

Provide accurate and timely information to support pricing decisions. Maintain an accurate and complete calendar for all price movement programs, including on-time analysis. Deliver designated margin improvement year on year on strategic accounts.

Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline. Strong proficiency in Excel, including macro creation. Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. Experience with database queries; experience in AS400 a plus. 1-3 year’s prior experience in related field.
