Principal Engineer

ATS Medical, a leading provider of lifesaving cardiac surgery products and services has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer.  This position will encompass project leadership activities geared about the development and commercialization of novel new biomedical products. Additionally, the engineer will need to guide and be directly involved in technical innovation pertinent to the treatment of cardiovascular disease states particularly with respect to Heart Valve technologies.

 

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical or other relevant technical degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of product development experience in biomedical devices.  The successful candidate will have proven ability to perform design iterations and concept generation; perform and design tests to evaluate and verify current designs according to specified criteria; use data obtained from technical support to verify the functionality of product design and draw conclusions for evaluation; design product components from concept descriptions; troubleshoot and problem solve issues within the design project; develop test methodology and specifications and perform such tests; collect and analyze data, and communicate results; and ability to work successfully in self-directed work teams and work in a clean room environment.
