Process / Design Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES Work in a team atmosphere creating and designing products for the commercial cooking product lines.Responsible for the creation of drawings and specifications, development prototypes and pre-production models, production design, agency compliance and continuous improvement techniques. Manage kaizen and continuous improvement teams and projects.

 REQUIREMENTS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with equivalent experience 3-5 years in manufacturing design and lean manufacturing process improvements

· Knowledge of gas/electric in the “cooking/heating” industry.

· Experience in designing sheet metal components and welded assemblies

· Understand thermodynamics and heat transfer of various materials.Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

· Solid background in 3D CAD design software, preferably Solid Edge and Solid Works

· Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate detailed technical information

· Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing tools, methods and principles;

· Value stream analysis

· SMED

· PokeYoke

· Pareto analysis

· Root cause analysis

· Performance scorecard

· Excellent time-management skills

· Experience in design for manufacturability

HIGHLY PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

· Past appliance engineering related experience

· Knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies

· Equipment wiring schematic reading and comprehension
