Products include: electro-fused ceramics, high performance refractories, advanced ceramics, silicon carbide, specialty crystals, chemical process products and high performance plastics.Job Title: Process EngineerReport To: Production Manager, FilmsLocation: Wayne, NJJob Summary:Provide process development and production process improvements required to improve operational profitability and increase capacity via designing and implementation of robust processes, scrap reduction, and efficiency improvements. Identify and work on opportunities to improve profitability, quality, and safety and provide troubleshooting support as needed. This position may handle a variety of long- and short-term projects.Specific Responsibilities:? Work on the development of new products/processes and their transition to routine production, including through plant trials.? Work on profit improvement projects that may encompass process improvement, downtime reduction, scrap reduction, quality improvement, and provide greater personal and/or environmental safety.? Provide technical support to manufacturing to address production problems.? Act as liaison between R&D, Product Management and the Production Management to develop process conditions and design appropriate equipment for new extruded films.? Develop procedures and trains supervisory, management, and operator personnel in new processes and procedures.? Obtain current information on extrusion and film handling equipment and analyze to determine potential value to Films operation.? Participate in self-development and training of others.? Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices. ? Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.Skills/ Education Requirements:Required:? Bachelors Degree in a Chemical or Polymer Processing Engineering discipline ? Experience in an extrusion manufacturing field is a plus.? Working knowledge of various plastics processing equipment ? Six Sigma certification is highly desirable? Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills.?
