Job Role and Responsibilities:
The Graphics & Reflective Products Division of Avery Dennison has an immediate opening for an experienced Process Engineer. The elected candidate will support Graphics and Reflective Products Division objectives associated with Safety, Service, Product Quality, and Profitability by providing technical support for the Coating and Finishing operations as assigned.
Optimize manufacturing processes using sound engineering principles and ELS tools Resolve manufacturing issues associated with process equipment and/or product performance Provide on-machine expertise to operations and other staff personnel to ensure manufacturing capability and equipment capacity are meeting delivery and performance target Support safety initiatives, programs, and daily requirements. Drive facility wide continuous improvement initiatives. Work with R&D on the development, scale-up, and commercialization of new products and technology platforms. Specify, install, and startup new process equipment including training of all affected personnel. Maintain process condition database for constructions produced on assigned coating/finishing lines. Network and collaborate with other Avery Dennison resources to obtain and transfer learnings, expertise, and opportunities. Support facility requirements to maintain ISO registration.

 

Required Knowledge, Experience, & Skills:Bachelors degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required. Must have 3-5 years manufacturing process engineering experience. Must possess solid technical aptitude in manufacturing processes and equipment Ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Hands on ability to troubleshoot problems and identify root cause. Demonstrated project management expertise required. Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Must be willing & able to travel approximately 10%.


Preferred Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:Green Belt or Black Belt Certified. Working knowledge of Lean tools and practices. Web handling experience. Coating process experience.
