Process Improvement Engineer - Quality

We are currently seeking a Process Improvement Engineer-Quality to join our highly skilled manufacturing team at our Milwaukee, WI. headquarters location.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

· The Process Improvement Engineer-Quality at P&H Mining Equipment will organize and conduct process improvement and quality activities associated with control actions to be applied to processes used in the planning and production of components and assemblies used for Large Mining Equipment applications. P&H Mining Equipment has a low volume / high mix of product manufacturing activities.

· Development and implementation of procedures and methods for quantifying and reporting process capability. 

· Investigate and analyze internal nonconforming material in order to identify underlying causes. 

· Develop and maintain effective systems/controls for assuring that corrective and preventive action is taken in a timely manner relating to processes used in the planning and production process. 

· Organize and lead teams to address process issues.  Develop and conduct training on process related subjects.

 

  QUALIFICATIONS:   

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (minimum 2-5 years) in quality and process improvement.  Six Sigma Green Belt Training or lean manufacturing experience is a preferred.

· Prior Quality Assurance experience is required.  CQE designation is preferred. 

· Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and relationship building skills with the ability to gain buy-in and influence without direct authority. 

· Strong ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. 

· Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 

· Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions.

· Self -driven achiever, with excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building skills along with strong goal achievement and project management skill sets.  Prior experience interacting with a unionized workforce is also a plus.
