Process Planner

 

Steel Industries Inc. located in Redford, MI. is searching for a professional and motivated individual to fill the position of Process Planner.  This position is responsible for the development of all documents necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes that insure conformance to customer requirements.  Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

 Develop manufacturing product ability information for production and manufacturing processes.Utilize this information; develop clear and concise process shop routers for the production of forged products to include all manufacturing, testing and inspection operations.Maintain configuration control for all developed process plans.Must be able to read contracts and design a shop order that will fulfill requirements.Ability to read and understand materials specifications.Able to coordinate with sales and production departmentsMust be able to write clear and concise orders.May have to interact with customers.

KnowledgeKnowledge of computers including Word and ExcelKnowledge of basic metallurgy – may be obtained on the job

Skills and AbilitiesMust be able to interact positively with customers, staff and all levels of managementMust have oral/written communications skillsMust be able to work under pressure of meeting company and customer schedules and deadlines

 EducationHigh School Diploma at a minimum; an associates degree or higher is preferred

 ExperienceA minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a metals manufacturing environmentPrevious experience at a forge shop or metal manufacturing a plus
