Procurement Analyst

D-M-E Company, the world's leading supplier of tooling products for the plastics industry is seeking a Procurement Analyst.  This position is based at D-M-E's headquarters located in Madison Heights, Michigan, and reports to the Manager, Global Sourcing.  This position is responsible for managing and planning inventory levels of raw materials and purchased components to provide a high level of customer service while keeping inventories in line with the company’s working capital objectives. The Procurement Analyst will have the authority to select, qualify or disqualify suppliers, release purchase orders for products and material, sign purchase orders in accordance with the Purchase Order Sign off Guidelines, determine when deviations should be requested, and select freight forwarders for imported products.

Procurement Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:Identify, evaluate and select suppliers for existing and new productsDevelop strong partnerships with suppliersDrive continuous improvement in the process with the goal of reducing the overall cost of ownershipMaintain the integrity of the product and supplier data baseTrack supplier quality and delivery performance on a monthly basisPerform supplier evaluations and follow up on Corrective Action RequestsParticipate in concurrent engineering projectsWork with Q.C., Engineering, and Marketing departments to establish product qualification control plansReview supplier’s requests for engineering changes or deviationsRepresent the Procurement Department in meetings and team projects as directed

Required QualificationsBachelors Degree in Business or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 5 years of procurement experienceExperienced with ERP systems, preferably JDEdwardsExperience sourcing mechanical and electrical componentsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite ApplicationsMust have the ability to handle multiple assignments concurrentlyGood communication skills, both written and oral
