Product Category Engineer

Reporting the Director Engineering for a personal care and food products manufacturer with over 400 brands in 100 countries. The Product Category Engineer acts as the key technical representatives of the Supply Chain and Engineering groups in the innovation process and Supply Chain strategy development.  Leads front-end design with Development team for all category innovation activities. Coordinates trials to evaluate manufacturing requirements for new products and processes. Leads development of preliminary engineering design and equipment specifications, commissioning activities; coordinates new product quality documentation.  Manages suppliers, engineering service providers and contractors and interacts with plant engineering, and supply groups. Assures compliance with company and industry engineering standards, specifications, and best practices. Supports multi-plant projects, manages engineering services up to $500,000 in cost, capital equipment purchases up to $5 Million and new product initiatives over $50 Million in revenue.  Manages two direct reports.

 Background Required:
• Engineering experience high-speed manufacturing (10 years)
• $Million Project management and tracking tools
• TPM/LEAN and Six Sigma Manufacturing
• Reliability principles, DOE, Root Cause Analysis and statistical tools
• AutoCAD and other engineering software packages
• Overall business knowledge (finance, engineering, supply chain, sourcing)
• Travel 25%
• Education: BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Residence: Pinehurst, NC (relocation assistance provided)

• CPG (beverage, pharma, food, personal & home care) high-speed manufacturing
• Six Sigma Certified
• Spanish
• BS Chemical Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer
