Product Developement Engineer

A rapidly growing, precision metal fabricator and medical component manufacturer is seeking an energetic engineer to join our growing company. Individual would be responsible for the development of new products and manufacturing processes through the use of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, resulting in delivery of robust products and processes to the manufacturing department and end-user customers.

Essential Job Functions:

Trains production personnel and works with Process Engineering to transfer new programs to production.
Interacts with customers and other technical personnel to assist with the development and design of the product and processes to improve functionality and manufacturability.
Identify and select equipment and technologies to be used for new products and processes.
Conducts FMEA, DOE, SPC analysis and uses other quality tools to fulfill customer requirements and manufacturing initiatives.
GD&T. Interpret and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Maps work flow(s) and develops process control plans.
Directs the validation activities for new tools, processes and equipment.
Develops and submits validation packages for customer approval of new parts, design modifications and/or process changes.
Qualified individual will have a BSME or BSIE, 3+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (metal stamping or medical device experience preferred), excellent communication skills, CAD experience (AutoCAD preferred) and experience in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of quality and statistical analysis is required. FMEA, DOE, and 6-Sigma experience a plus.
