Product Development Engineer (Injection Molding)

Responsible for overall development and delivery of a variety of engineered plastic and related products inclusive of market investigation, pure design, manufacturing and testing of new and existing products especially involved in injection molding processes.

Essential Elements
*Work directly with internal marketing customers, external customers, and market leaders to determine requirements and create product specifications and designs.
*Create and work from a wide variety of specifications, mold drawings, and design inputs to facilitate the manufacture of new products and molds via design engineering, and specific manufacturing process knowledge.
*Lead individual product from concept to first piece acceptance
*Provide prepared project/product plan estimates to customers or product managers.
*Conduct product development, material purchasing, manufacturing scheduling / planning and testing necessary to achieve product implementation goals
*Prepare technical support and status reports for internal distribution and external communication.

SECONDARY ELEMENTS
*Assist in the growth of the overall business unit by making recommendations and enhancement for product
*Stay immersed in the particular market for new groundbreaking trends, ideas and opportunities.
*Maintain monthly status markers for assigned projects including any necessary ISO documentation.

REQUIREMENTS
*Bachelor's Degree: BSME, BSID or related
*3+ Years experience in product design and development with demonstrated successes
*5 - 7 Years overall experience
*3D CAD experience (SolidEdge preferred)
*High familiarity with plastics molding operations (i.e. injection molding)
*Specific market intelligence in areas of Commercial/ Retail Markets
*Ability to travel as a portion of the workload
*Ability to work collectively as part of a development team
