Product Manager, Track

POSITION SUMMARY

 

This position is responsible for the overall marketing and product management of assigned product line through strategic product planning, marketing functions, product training and support, forecasting monthly business and technical support.

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

¨ Maintains new product development process and marketing releases on assigned product line to reach planned dates

 

¨ Provides distributor, specification and national accounts sales teams with product application knowledge

 

¨ Conducts new product training, LOLU and Distributor college

 

¨ Attends trade shows and travels to markets/customers for promoting purpose, market research and field sales assistance

 ¨ Manages pricing, costs, inventory and obsolete stock to improve profitability

 

¨ Supports all general marketing activities of SBU; price increases, ABC/CODB analysis, CLH, etc.

 

¨ Assumes additional related responsibilities as assigned

 REQUIREMENTS

 

¨ Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field with at least 5 years of product management or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

¨ Strong computer (Microsoft Office Suite) skills, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

¨ Excellent oral presentation skills; must be able to professionally represent Lightolier with tact, courtesy and command of subject matter

 

¨ Solid combination of business and hands-on product sensibility

 

¨ Able to effectively partner with sales team; provide technical assistance to sales team and customers as needed

 

¨ Experience in product (consumer hard goods) management, marketing and distribution

 

¨ Able to travel as needed both domestic and international

 

Desirable Qualifications

 

¨ MBA/advanced degree, participation in lighting industry associations

 

¨ Lighting industry experience

 

¨ Knowledge of lighting, industry, competitors and products

 

¨ Foreign travel experience (Far East)

 

¨ LC certified and/or similar lighting education (IES, ALA, etc.)
