Product Manager (casting, metals)

SUMMARY:

Primary full-time Commercial Representative for the Vallejo Plant & Morgantown EBSM Titanium casting customers.  Responsible for all field/inside sales functions for all Vallejo VIM/EBCHR Nickel, Cobalt, Iron based Superalloys, Specialty Alloys and Titanium EBSM casting alloys and Morgantown Titanium EBSM casting alloys, including, but not limited to financial reports, sales forecasts, customer contacts, quotes and acceptance of customer orders, liaison between Commercial, Production, and Manufacturing Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

COMMERCIAL:Manage sales for the Vallejo Plant and Morgantown EBSM Casting application customers, both field and inside sales.Coordinate sales efforts of TIMET to investment casters, including pricing/quoting strategies for VIM/EBCHR Superalloys and Titanium EBSM products.Prepare quotations, accept customer orders and track orders to ensure all requirements are met and deliveries are on time.Review Nickel, Cobalt and Iron Superalloy raw material prices to ensure accurate market prices are used when submitting quotes to customers. Coordinate timely visits with VIM/EBCHR Superalloy and EB Titanium customers.Work closely with Vallejo Operations Manager to schedule melt/ship dates to meet the customer’s needs. Work closely with Quality Manager to ensure specification requirements are followed as required.Prepare customer reports and feedback regarding melting, shipping, inventory status.Prepare monthly report for Owens Corning, reporting status of spinners inventory and melt schedule.Update Available-to-Sell Inventory Report  Manage Order Summary report to track all Vallejo orders.

MANAGEMENT:Participate in Management functions of the Vallejo PlantWork closely with the TIMET Vallejo Management to ensure customer requirements are acceptable and completed as agreed.Participate in Quarterly ORMs, report Vallejo financial results and customer information to the Executive Staff.Devise market strategy with the Senior Staff for long-term customer, product and profitability development.Develop products with Vallejo Staff and customers for continual growth in market share.Explore cost-savings measures with Vallejo staff to improve profitability of the Vallejo plant and TIMET.

FINANCIAL:Manage financial reports for Vallejo PlantPrepare forecast for Annual Operating Plan for Vallejo VIM/EBCHR Superalloy products and Vallejo/Morgantown EBSM Titanium products. Update quarterly or as neededReport monthly sales including, but not limited toRevenue/Gross Profit by customer/alloy, Aged Inventory, Back-Log/Bookings/Sales, Inventory ProofManage cost track reports for both VIM/EBCHR Superalloy and EBSM Titanium heatsPrepare weekly Back-Log report for all ordersReport sales and on-time delivery results on a weekly basisManage all pricing issues, including Inter-Company orders

ADMINISTRATIONDirect the efforts of the Vallejo Administrative AssistantBack-up Admin Assist with SAP invoicing, and daily routine in her absence.

Coordinate vacation schedule with Administrative Assistant to ensure coverage of the Vallejo office.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· B.S. or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, Finance or a related field.

· Minimum three years production control or sales experience within a manufacturing background.

· Strong organizational and communication skills.

· Prior supervisory experience required.

 

Strong computer skills and experience, Microsoft Office preferred.
