PRODUCT/PROCESS ENGINEER

 

Olin Corporation is a manufacturer concentrated in two business segments:  Chlor Alkali Products and Winchester.  Chlor Alkali Products manufactures chlorine and caustic soda, sodium hydrosulfite, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen, potassium hydroxide and bleach products.  Winchester products include sporting ammunition, reloading components, small caliber military ammunition and components, and industrial cartridges.  Our East Alton, IL facility has an opportunity for a Product/Process Engineer within the Winchester Division.

 

Requirements

B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA is required. 

Minimum of one-year Mechanical Engineering work experience is required.  Job grade to be commensurate with experience level.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Problem solving skills are a must.

Must be a creative, self-motivated, independent thinker with analytical ability to manage projects within an established time frame.

Must have working knowledge of PC software – Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Knowledge of 3-D modeling software a plus (Mechanical Desktop and/or Inventor preferred).

Experience in the hunting and/or shooting sports is preferred.

 

 

Responsibilities

Product/Process Engineering support for Primer Manufacturing and Shot Tower.

Engineering responsibilities include component and tooling design, process definition, ballistic testing and quality documentation.

Work closely with Manufacturing, Equipment Engineers, Ballistics and QV to identify product and process problems as they arise, and recommend and implement corrective action.

Design and evaluate alternate components and process changes to improve process efficiency, reduce cost and improve product performance.

Support manufacturing Target, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Safety Initiatives.

 LocationOlin is one of the largest manufacturing facilities in the St. Louis Metro area.  East Alton is located just north of St. Louis on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River.
