Electronic Concepts is looking for an energetic professional with a desire to learn all aspects of power capacitor design and development.  This position will be full time.  Students which have completed at least two years of college level curriculum in an engineering or science discipline with lab are encouraged to apply.  Additional positions for testing model shop technicians are available.

 

Basic Requirements for All Qualified Applicants:

· Preferred BSEE or 2 years Engineering or Science plus 2 years Lab experience.

· Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Solid working knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis, filtering, data manipulation and computation

· Solid working knowledge of MS word.

· Good communication skills

 

Other Beneficial Pluses for Qualified Applicants:Working knowledge of O-scopes, signal generators, current and voltage measurement, basic aptitude to learn and use test equipment.Knowledge of capacitor functions in circuits.Hands-on circuit repair or test bed bread-boardingGood working knowledge of MS AccessGood working knowledge of Adobe 7.0 ProfessionalBasic working knowledge of AutoCad, TurboCad or other CAD system.Use of circuit simulation softwareAny experience with power system design, function or repair.

 

This position requires a mature responsible person to perform professional work and reports.  The products fall into two categories.  The first is a materials research lab which focuses on developing new polymers for capacitor dielectric.  The position requires the use of solvents and other chemicals to form slurries which are then cast on a moving surface and wound to form a roll or continuous plastic sheet.  The sheet is then tested and characterized.  Final reports are issued.  Attention to detail and proper lab procedures are critical.

 

The second part of the position involves studying new and existing polymers as actual wound capacitors.  This requires learning about the product and production and then building and testing products.  The data is collected and analyzed.  Final reports are issued.

 

The correct applicant will be very organized and detailed.  The position will entail monitoring and updating R&D project status, completing reports and filing paperwork.  Responsibilities will include all aspects of formulating, producing lab products, testing, collecting data, activity log maintenance and reporting. Good communication skills are required to work with different area managers and supervisors to collect information and document work and status. 

 

This is a position which is still forming. We are a mid-sized company that produces a high quality and high reliability product.  Most of our R&D is self funded although there is some contract research as well.  You will work directly with the top management to direct and control the research activities of the company.  We are a dynamic company which moves fast.  The position will be face paced and requires an individual who enjoys this pace.  The aptitude to learn is critical.  We produce an niche product and also produce the manufacturing and test equipment.  We expect to have to train any applicant whether they have extreme experience or just getting started.  The ability to learn quickly and work accurately on multiple projects simultaneously is really the key to success.

 

This could be an excellent opportunity for a local college student completing at least a sophomore level in an engineering or science discipline with lab courses.  Most data is manipulated in Excel as a minimum requirement.  The applicant would work full time for the summer and if successfully trained the company would consider working a flexible schedule during the school year. 

 

This position is very dynamic.  The correct applicant is highly self motivated and driven.  Opportunities for advancement are excellent for the right person.  A full benefit package with vacation time, medical insurance and profit sharing through a 401K plan is extended to hires after successful completion of the first three month period after hire.  Starting pay will range from $13-$22/hr. based on experience.  This position will have the opportunity to work Overtime.
