Product Specialist - Reno

Job Description: Tyco Flow Control (TFC) is the largest manufacturer of valves, actuators and associated flow control products in the world serving the oil and gas, chemical, power generation, petrochemical, waterworks, and pulp and paper industries, as well as the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and specialty markets.  TFC generates approximately $2.5 billion dollars in revenue and employs 12,800 associates in over 80 locations around the globe.  TFC Americas has an exciting opportunity for a Product Specialist in our Reno, NV location.Summary of Position: Responsible for providing complex technical support to end users and outside sales and providing quotations and prices. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:  1.  Recommends products to customers, based on customer's specific needs and interests. 2.  Evaluates customer specifications to ensure compliance with technical and commercial requirements in accordance with industry standards.3.  Provides special materials pricing.4.  Answers questions about products, prices, durability and credit terms. 5.  Meets with customers to demonstrate and explain features of products. 6.  Estimates delivery dates and arranges delivery schedules. 7.  Instructs customers in use of products. 8.  Investigates and resolves customer complaints. 9.  Obtains credit information on prospective customers. 10. Reviews purchase orders for accuracy.11. Provides support to outside sales representatives.12. Prepares quotes. Education andExperience: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or a related field and 3-5 years experience in the field or in a related area. Knowledge of valves, actuators, and controls strongly preferred.   Additional Skills Required:  Requires knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Requires excellent computer skills, ability to work with detail, good organizational skills, solid math skills, and excellent problem solving ability.   Salary:   Negotiable, with benefits package, BOQ and BOE. Work Conditions:   Flexible workweek, hours may vary.  Extended hours may be required based on business needs.  Travel to other facilities and training would equate to no more than 25% of a workweek. General work will be primarily conducted in a climate-controlled office setting with a minimal flow of people.
