Production Control/Materials Management 1st Tier Automotive Supplier

First Tier assembly and injection molding plant located in the Detroit Metropolitan area seeks an experienced and degreed Production Control/Materials Manager with a minimum of 7-10 years hands on production control and materials management experience in a manufacturing plant operated by a First Tier automotive supplier to OEM automotive customers. The required background for this position includes experience scheduling multiple production assembly lines using automotive releases electornically received and managing inventories of components on a just in time basis to support production for a First Tier supplier to OEM automotive companies.  Experienc using Kan Ban cards and understanding of TPS and Kaizen is a plus.  The successfule candidate will manage the Production Control Department and inventories including conducting physical inventories to confirm inventory levels and monitor production scrap.  Responsibilities also include interfacing with Purchasing, Quality and Production to ensure orders are placed on a timely basis.  It is essential for the successful candidate to have experience using Bills of Materials and Routings to track material movement, schedule production and maintain critical inventory levels.  This position is a key hands on management position in a busy state of the art plant and requires a professional, who has a successful track record, excellent analytical skills, sense of urgency, and can lead by example, train and motivate a Production Control Department in a presssurized manufacturing environment.  The successful candidate will receive a salary commensurate with experience with excellent benefits and a bonus opportunity based on performance.  Qualified candidates only should email their resumes for immediate consideration.
