Production Coordinator (Blast Furnace Experience needed)

Position Summary:
The Production Coordinator is accountable for the processing of heavy industrial construction material. This role requires the incumbent to be an active member of the plant’s leadership team. The Production Coordinator’s key mission encompasses the following: safety, production planning, cost budgeting and management, coordination and scheduling of staff & hourly personnel, and logistical coordination of material within the site and outbound movements. This role also requires the maintenance of a relationship with the #7 blast furnace management team.
Accountabilities:
Safety: Lead the department’s safety
Achievement of outstanding program using a ‘team-based’ approach;
Meet safety performance, which is targets for participation, system measured by OSHA incidence rate and compliance, and safety results level of TBS engagement
Achievement of product quality
Quality & Customer Satisfaction: commitments (IQOs & MQOs). Ensure product quality meets IQO or equivalent targets
Leadership: Lead six (6) direct
Achieves production volumes by reports; product mix; protects plant Production Planning & equipment; Manage performance
Industrial Excellence: Meet through metrics & drive continuous
production, product mixes and cost targets improvement
Prepares and manages the production fixed cost budget;
Cost Management
Achieves cost commitments (budget and forecast)
Hires, disciplines, develops HR Management & Development: skills of production employees; Responsible for personnel management and manages employee scheduling development, including semi-annual performance reviews
Maintain partnership relationship; Stakeholder Relations-external: Develop and maintain relationship with Mittal Steel operations personnel
Effective, timely communication
Product Shipping & Logistics: four modes of transportation (barge,
Optimize shipping requirements by managing vessel, truck, and rail)
Production and inventories
Qualification Profile:
Four-year degree is preferred
3-7 years experience within Steel, or Heavy Industrial manufacturing &
Supervisory/Management experience required
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong Leadership skills (Leading People; communication; people
Development; results driven; customer focused)
Strong working knowledge of production management as well as
Familiarity with production, maintenance and shipping functions
The qualified candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace
