Production Department Manager

The Production Department Manager ensures that the plant's goals, objectives, and schedule for his or her department are met. The Production Manager must effectively allocate resources in a timely manner in order to meet the production schedule. The Production Department Manager reports directly to the Production Manager. Responsibilities:*Manage area supervisors and ensure proper allocation of available personnel in order to meet schedule requirements.*Manage activities of all production areas and support groups in the department to ensure that each is working effectively to achieve the plant's goals and objectives, coordinates activities with other department managers.*Effective manage the execution of the master schedule by planning and coordination of departmental resources in order to meet requirements.*Monitors production volume and quality results of their department and takes corrective action as necessary to resolve issues that negatively result affect results.*Responsible for departmental daily and weekly performance metrics, e.g. efficiency, rework, equipment utilization, and overtime.  Report on the production numbers inthe daily and weekly accountability meeting and initiate corrective action plans to address variance from plan. *Ensure that the Maintenance department responds in a timely manner to equipment problems that occur in the area and ensures that all preventative maintenance is performed on the scheduled date.*Promote regular interaction with team members and supervisors, builds an enthusiastic and dynamic team environment.*Maitains a clean, safe and organized work environment in accordance with 5S and generally accepted manufacturing standards.*Actively participates in continuous improvement programs and process improvements, cost reduction, quality improvements, and team building.*Develop and implement effective long-term solutions for operational improvements.*Ensure that all employees in their area of responsiblity understand and adhere to the company's operating plicies and procedures, initiates disciplinary action when required.*Develop area supervisors to become effective managers, and support their activities on the floor.  Four to five supervisors will report directly to the Production Department Manager. Requirements:*Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience*3 Years production/manufacturing management experience *Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodolgies*Billingual English/Spanish Full-time position with excellent salary, medical and dental benefits, 401(k) plan. Please email to: Productionhr@Parkwestgallery.com         Company: Park West Gallery Location: Miami Lakes, FL 33014 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Manufacturing/Production/Operations Occupations: Production/Operations Planning Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Industry: Manufacturing - Other Company: Park West Gallery
