Production Engineer

Synchrony Inc., conveniently located in Roanoke County midway between Roanoke and Christiansburg, seeks a capable Production Engineer.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

· A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.  Equivalent education/experience, including mechanical engineering, will be considered.

· Experience in quality systems and industrial engineering methods. 5 years or more experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment. 5 or more years of electronics manufacturing experience (PCBs, electronic enclosures, or similar). Understanding of electronic testing protocols and certification processes. Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques.

 

Responsibilities will include:

· Develops and implements manufacturing process technologies, methods and techniques.

· Provides direction for the development and maintenance of product assembly procedures.

· Coordinates the implementation of product design changes.

· Designs production fixtures to aid assembly operations for assembler safety/comfort, labor reduction and defect prevention.

· Specifies and selects new manufacturing equipment in collaboration with manufacturing associates.

· Maintains integrity of product bills of material and manufacturing routings.

· Resolves problems inhibiting the efficient flow of the production process.

· Provides technical training in manufacturing techniques, methods and processes to assembly technicians.

· Assists in the preparation of new product cost estimates.

· Assists Purchasing in the evaluation and selection of vendors.

· Other duties as assigned.
