Production Mechanic

Alcan Packaging, in Warren County, NJ has openings for Production Mechanics in our plastic tube department.

Duties:

* Set-up, operate and adjust equipment to produce quality plastic tubes.

*  Make running adjustments to attain good quality tubes while maintaining specifications and maximum production.

*  Perform set-ups and changeovers on production equipment. 

*  Start and stop equipment, clear jams, and keep lines running for maximum output and quality.

*  Operate extruder, printer, coater, and header/capper.  Adjust this equipment as required. 

*  Troubleshoot the equipment to determine the source of mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs.  Replace worn or damaged parts.

*  Time, synchronize, and align mechanical action to obtain mechanical coordination (under power).

*  Perform quality checks and log results as required.

*  Keep work area and equipment clean and tools placed in designated storage areas.

Skills/Qualifications:

* High School Diploma minimum

* Prior job experience requiring the use of basic mechanical skills (equipment troubleshooting, problem solving, equipment maintenance, etc).
