Production Planner / Scheduler

Moss Inc. - SLC currently has an open position for a Microsoft Great Plains Production Planner/Scheduler. The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for making sure that the production departments have the information they need to produce products in a timely and efficient manner.   The Production Planner/Scheduler helps cost Moss products consistently, accurately, and quickly by entering labor times/routers and bills of material into the Great Plains manufacturing system.  The position will also support estimating by providing manufacturing order analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders. Adds and deletes orders per the direction of the Sales department and Production Manager. Reviews the manufacturing order to determine the departments affected by the order and adjusts the schedule to show what operations are required. Adjusts schedules to meet changing conditions. Reviews the departmental loading and recommends the need for external sourcing of work.    Understand Moss processes and able to review and recommend improvements to processes.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

·    Manufacturing scheduling knowledge
·    Basic accounting knowledge.
·    Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
·    Inventory process exposure.
·    Manufacturing Job Costing system knowledge is preferred.
·    Microsoft Great Plains experience a plus.

Education and Knowledge: Associate level education or manufacturing and inventory Control experience required.
