Production Scheduler / Planner

The production planning manager will plan and determine production priorities by reviewing customer delivery needs and requirements and production schedules; analyzing equipment, materials, and employee availability. The candidate will update the build schedule and coordinate products throughout the production cycle by applying thorough knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), production system, and manufacturing management software. This position is a vital member of our team and interfaces with all levels of Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Shipping, and Sales to ensure execution of the build plan in support of company goals.

Primary Responsibilities of the Production Planning Manager include:
* Understand and fully utilize the MRP system to plan and coordinate manufacturing work - Epicor Vista/Vantage software experience preferred.
* Schedule workflow for Swiss Lathes, Mills, and assembly according to the priorities of jobs.
* Resolves production scheduling problems by analyzing reports; developing solutions.
* Respond timely to variances in the forecast and Sales Order demand.
* Review capacity planning for Manufacturing and make adjustments as required.
* Resolve bottlenecks and constraints timely and suggest process improvements.
* Troubleshoot the production loop by assessing areas of concern, hold ups and/or impasses; attempt to provide workable solutions to smooth the flow of production.
* Meet strategic inventory goals and objectives.
* Calculate and set ROP & EOQs for component inventories.
* Requisition raw materials to satisfy demand requirements.
* Manage others on the production team.

Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years of production planning in a multi-product, multi-machine manufacturing and assembly environment.
* Proficient with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office products.
* First-rate communication skills and ability to interface with multiple internal departments at all levels of authority.
* Analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation.
* Ability to effectively and efficiently balance competing priorities
* Prior experience with Kanban and Lean manufacturing desired
