In 2006 the group had consolidated sales approaching $4 billion.General Function:Under the supervision of the Siding Manager, the Production Shift Supervisor is accountable for overseeing production and grinding crews in attaining production cost and quality goals while maintaining a safe work environment. The incumbent is accountable for scheduling the appropriate staff, and monitoring progress and results. Duties/Responsibilities:•Schedule employees•Assign workload, monitor subordinates’ progress, and evaluate results•Enter timecards, and verify Kronos punch-ins•Administer CertainTeed policies•Monitor overall production quality, safety, and Key Operating Indicators•Provide essential communication between management, and production crew•Ensure adequate equipment and supplies are on hand•Oversee the cleanliness and housekeeping of the production area•Manage Regrind operations•Oversee training for new employees, coach, develop, and provide feedback on employee progress•Oversee end of shift reports•Prepare incident/accident reports as needed, and conduct necessary follow-ups•Provide continuous process and production improvement recommendationsRequirements:3-5 years in a progressively responsible manufacturing environment2 years experience as a production supervisor in a high labor-based company is desirable.
