Production Supervisor - Fabrication

Freedom Plastics, Inc., an ISO:9001 certified manufacturer of PVC Pipe & Fittings, has an opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor at our Preston, ID location.  Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Fabrication Supervisor has the responsibiity of maintaining the efficient flow of all materials through manufacturing.

 

LOCAL CANDIDATES WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE.

 

Responsibilities Include:  Work with Production Manager and other support departments to ensure quality production and shipmentsInvestigate and recommend alternatives to product designs and manufacturing methodsDirect the activities of one or more Team Members including training, assigning, and checking workBe able to travel to customer and help solve quality problems at a moments notice if and when situations ariseEstablish optimal manufacturing methods and processes for the production of Company product linesAssist in the more difficult and technical problems affecting manufacturing projectsAssist Production Manager with manpower planning, production, goal setting, productivity assessments, process improvement, and utilization of engineering supportWork with IT department on a successful implementation of a Production System for work order schedulingCoordinate with all departments, managers, team leaders, team members to see that all policies and procedures have been established and adhered to in accordance with ISO 9001 certification requirements

Requirements:  Excellent leadership and interpersonal skillsHard working and positive attitudeWillingness to learn and grow with the companyUnderstanding of production processes and control5 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Freedom Plastics, Inc. was established in 1976 as a manufacturer of PVC Pipe used primarily in municipal, irrigation, and plumbing applications.  At that time, the company had one extrusion line with limited sizes of product.  Freedom Plastics has grown to three locations with corporate headquarters in Janesville, WI and additional manufacturing plants in Ft. Pierce, FL and Preston, ID.  We currently have 28 extrusion lines manufacturing PVC pipe from .5" to 24" in diameter and two large diameter and custom fabricated fittings plants.  In 2007 Freedom Plastics established a partnership with a small diameter, molded fittings manufacturer to further expand our product offering.
