Metko, a successful and rapidly growing custom metal fabricator, is seeking a Production Supervisor – Welding to join our team. This person is primarily responsible for training, guiding, and overseeing welding and some fabrication functions on our shop floor. We are looking for a strong leader who will effectively train welding staff and oversee welding operations on the production floor. We are looking for a hands on and energetic person who enjoys working on a variety of projects. Founded in 1971, our company (www.metko.com) is a high tech precision custom metal fabricator specializing in fabrications ranging from gauge material through 1/4 inch steel plates. ISO 9001:2000 certified, we produce a wide range of fabrications according to our customers’ specifications. We offer CNC laser cutting, CNC turret punching, CNC forming, PEM fastener installation and a variety of welding capabilities (MIG, TIG, robotic, spot and seam welding). Examples of custom finish or assembled components are control cabinets and consoles, fuel tanks, hydraulic reservoirs, gaskets and flat plastic/composite laminate parts.

Responsibilities:Train & supervise welders and machine operators Play a key role in hiring / terminating. Use the discipline process; write performance reviews; do shop performance with Production Mgr. Handle production quality issues: Be proactive on all quality issues. Ensure quality parts are being produced on the production floor on all 3 shifts Support Production Manager and assume duties in his/her absence Liaison between 2nd / 3rd shifts and other depts. Assist with production scheduling

Skills / Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent Supervisory experience required Experience in manufacturing and specifically welding Strong leadership skills, communication and problem-solving skills Basic computer proficiency required, experience with Word, Excel, Outlook a plus Ability to work other shifts as needed
