Production and Inventory Planner
A&E Hand Tools, a business unit of A&E Incorporated and located in Racine, WI, is a designer and manufacturer of high quality hand tools servicing customer needs worldwide.
Founded in 1932 by the late Daniel M. Lang, this one-man operation has developed into a family of companies that design and manufacture specialty automotive/industrial hand tools for both private-brand customers and our own corporate brand trademarks (Kastar), diagnostic test equipment (Star Products), retaining ring pliers (Hi Tech) and distributes precision German-made tools (Hazet-NA) and Tool Control Solutions (closed cell form). Supplying quality products to the professional mechanic or do-it-yourself marketplace continues to be the bloodline of the business.
A&E is currently seeking a Production and Inventory Planner to ensure timely building and shipping of products by expediting purchases and production in all aspects of the manufacturing process to effectively meet production and sales goals.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Analyze MRP and Kanbans to plan production and purchases and manage usage and inventory levels to effectively meet production and sales goalsPlan materials to align with customer requirementsEnsure accurate data management and reporting of materials flowDocument, maintain, analyze and adjust internal supply techniques (kanban, sizing logic and inventory pull sequences)Address materials forecasting needs and priorities for specific customer orders making revisions as neededPlan and expedite purchases and production in all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure timely building and shipping of productsInvestigate and resolve shortages and any material issuesAudit transactions for production receipts, incoming materials and inventory transactionsPlan, organize and execute annual physical inventory processGenerate and implement process improvements to increase control and effectiveness of material flowHandle special requests from Engineering and Maintenance departments
Required Experience and Education:Degree in Supply Chain Management or BusinessMinimum of 3 years work experience in Material Planning/Procurement or equivalent combination of education and work experience3 years experience in MRP, PULL systems, purchasing, material planning, inventory/production control and production scheduling in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAPICS Certification a plusWorking knowledge of material management systemProcess knowledge of manufacturing functions including order fulfillment and inventory controlAbility to multi-task, prioritize and complete projects with minimal supervisionProficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelProfessional, positive demeanor with sound work ethicsStrong customer focusMotivated, resourceful, self-directed, ambitious, enthusiastic and attentive to detail
