Project Engineer- Reinforced Plastic Composites (Polymers)

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead in composite product development, by handling design, analysis, manufacturability, prototyping and production readiness tasks.

2. Responsible for the management of entire projects, including but not limited to proposal phase, technical planning and work performed, as well as project scope, costs, schedule, and reporting.

3. Design and document processes to support the production of composite parts and training of production staff.

4. Work towards the project goals in a timely manner according to the latest project schedule.

5. Assist in the testing of new processing equipment and pro-actively debug system problems as required.



PREFERRED CAPABILITIES: 


1. Capabilities on Solidworks and some FEA package for design, analysis and documentation purposes. Knowledge of proper drawing standards.
 
2.  Knowledge of plastic composite processing principles and tooling design.

3. Demonstrated ability to work on a fast-paced, deadline driven design-engineering team. 

4.  Ability to analyze/research and solve problems. Experience with product design and fabrication especially relating to reinforced plastic composite materials.

5 . Ability to use common power and hand tools and equipment. Hands-on experience with fabricating prototypes in a typical composite environment preferred. Ability and willingness to go from computer design, to machine shop hands on active work to modify tooling and / or to assist in direct equipment  fabrication or prototyping is a must!



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

BSME required; with 2 - 5 years experience preferred.
