Information Technology Project Manager - Disaster Recovery

The Contract Technical Project Manager position reporting to the IT Manager of PMO/Client Service Management shall be responsible for the formal management of an Information Technology Infrastructure Disaster Recovery Project. This project is for the design and implementation of a Disaster Recovery plan for a large manufacturer located in Windsor, CT.

 

Responsibilities of the Project Manager position include:



-          Work with Client Service Manager and Business Unit Leads to help define, set-up and manage workflow for this major Disaster Recovery Project

-          Maintain project plan for on going project work (scope, schedule, budget, resources).

-          Ensure proper assignment of project activities to IT Staff and/or Subject Matter Experts.

-          Make high-level analysis, draw conclusions from project information/data, and make recommendations to management sponsors.

-          Provide periodic reports to Management regarding project status, risks & cost benefits.

-          Make presentations on projects being managed and other topics the PM will be involved with.

-          Work with the businesses to translate strategies into executable IT Projects, specifically in terms of strategic architecture issues, solution options and business process models.

-          Develop project plans, provide direction and allocate appropriate resources to meet project requirements and deadlines for all phases of the system development life cycle, business process analysis and business requirements phases of functional requirements, technical design, testing, deployment and training phases.

-          Conduct business process analysis, flowchart processes, and lead users in the redesign of business processes by applying knowledge of computer capabilities to improve efficiency, lower costs, better meet business needs and minimize customization of software.

 Education and Experience



Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 7-10 years of related experience within a fast-paced, customer service oriented environment.  Ideal candidate will have spent the majority of these years focused on Project Management within an IT environment, who enjoys working with others in a Customer Service organization, and is capable of getting things done within a fast-paced project environment.

 

PMI Certification is a plus.
