Project Manager - PV Installations

EPV Solar, a thin-film solar module manufacturer headquartered in Hamilton, NJ, is rapidly expanding. EPV manufactures and offers high performance solar modules for freestanding, rooftop and integrated building applications in both commercial and residential sectors. Project Manager – PV Installations

This position will be the primary project contact for turn-key solar electric (PV) installations in North America. The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of project teams and for ensuring that deliverables meet time specifications, quality and budget goals. Through strong interpersonal skills and open communication, the Project Manager will work with various departments to manage the successful completion of a project through the design, build/install, inspect and close out phases of a given solar installation project.

Responsibilities will include:

- Define, plan and implement medium-large scale solar installation projects

- Work with customer, sales team and Installation GM to define clear project objectives

- Define / communicate clear scope of work for each project

- Identify resources, and associated costs, needed for each project

- Assign responsibility to internal personnel, and external professionals for all work

- Develop initial design renderings to assist sales team with closing project sales

- Sequence and schedule all work for each project

- Negotiate contracts with external professional services firms

- Manage and track all project-related expenses including all hours, materials and services

- Manage resources and materials committed to the project

- Interface directly with building owner, prime contractors, subcontractors and field construction personnel to review milestones and resolve potential problems

- Analyze, review and forecast project spending

- Report progress in writing on a weekly basis. Identify internal and external factors that may affect project success

- Maintain ongoing contact with system owner, prime contractors, secondary contractors to receive/provide feedback on receiving work

- Apply knowledge of PV and capabilities of the company’s resources to best meet client needs

 

 

Requirements
Qualifications and experience:

- Demonstrate successful experience leading complex, cross-functional project teams

- Must have demonstrated skills in project-related software, and equivalent skills in MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)

- Must have fundamental ability to complete renderings of solar systems, including Visio, AutoCAD LT, or other similar CAD-based software

- PMI certification is an asset

- Existing relationships in the PV industry is an asset

- Excellent communication skills

- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical knowledge is required

- At least 4-5 years experience

- Demonstrable knowledge or experience with electricity

- Ability to work independently while still a strong team player
