Keefe Group, a leader in the prison supply industry, has excellent opportunities for Part-time & Full-time Property Room Staff servicing the City of Atlanta Jail.  The Property Room Staff will assist in the intake and recording of property from inmates that have been booked into jail, safeguard all inmate property surrendered to the Property Management Unit, and properly document and comply with all requirements of the prescribed procedures.  These positions are located inside a correctional facility and will have contact with inmates.

Pay rate:

We offer a pay rate of $11.00 -$14.00/hour commensurate with experience.

 

Location:

Atlanta, GA

 

  Responsibilities:

· Collecting, recording, inventorying, storing, and returning or disposing of inmate personal property (including currency); during admissions, transfers, and release of the inmate.

· Positively identify the inmate.

· Set up inmate in the computer system.

· Record on the software any money or property the inmate has in his/her possession.

· Account for all signed receipts.

· Complete miscellaneous duties assigned by Commissary Fiduciary Manager.

 

  Qualifications:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

· Proficient math skills

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to write simple correspondence.

· Familiarity with computers a plus.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Must be a self-starter who can work well with people in a correctional facility in

· professional manner.

· Must pass Clerical Skills Test.

· Must pass Drug Screen, Background Check and Credit Check.

· Must qualify for correctional facility security clearance.
