Purchaser

Job Purpose:

To purchase raw materials required for manufacturing plant to operate efficiently, cost effectively, and successfully meet delivery commitments. 

Duties:

* Verifies inventories by checking stock when required.

* Orders materials by verifying purchase request specifications and prices; inputting purchase orders and service requests.

* Coordinates on time release and delivery of all raw materials.

* Authorizes payment by comparing receiving report to invoices; settling discrepancies.

* Negotiates pricing contracts to achieve or reduce projected raw material costs 

* Keeps purchasing and inventory information up to date and accessible.

* Works closely with Management, Scheduler and Supervisors to meet production needs.

Skills/Qualifications:

Minimum 4 Year Degree plus 2-5 Years Experience; Experienced in Purchasing of Coil Steel; Supply Management; Vendor Relationships; Excellent Communication Skills; Organization; Documentation Skills; Manufacturing Methods and Procedures; Data Entry Skills.
